Endomicroscopy

It is the fusion of Endoscopy and Confocal Microscopy. To create Confocal Images, blue laser light is focused on the desired tissue via the distal end. Applied fluorescent materials are excited by the laser light, and the special Confocal optical unit detects exclusively the fluorescing light in an exactly defined horizontal level. This produces high-resolution microscopic images, making it possible to assess structures down to the size.
